OU International WaTER Conference and
International Water Prize Award Ceremony
The Water Technologies for Emerging Regions (WaTER) Center at the University of Oklahoma will host the 2011 OU International WaTER Conference and International Water Prize Award Ceremony on October 24-25, 2011 in Norman, Okla., U.S.A.
The conference theme “Synergy at the Interface: Integrating Technology, Social Entrepreneurship and Behavior Change” is designed to bring together participants from multiple disciplines responding to the UN Millennium Development Goals of bringing water and sanitation to emerging regions. Attendees will include water and sanitation experts from academia, industry, NGOs, government and foundations.
The two-day conference will include poster and concurrent paper sessions devoted to all technical and non-technical topics and sectors (e.g., science, engineering, health, anthropology, sociology, business, meteorology, geography, education, and cultural issues) relevant to water and sanitation.
Optional workshops will be provided on October 26, 2011.
Plenary / Keynote Speakers
Keynote speakers will include experts from the fields of social entrepreneurship, behavior change, water technologies, climate change and hydro-philanthropy in the developing world.
The highlight of the conference will be a plenary lecture by, and presentation of the 2011 OU International Water Prize to, Mr. Ben Fawcett.

Registration / Travel Scholarships
Advance Registration Ends September 7
Conference registration is $250, which includes entrance to all poster and paper sessions, plenary lectures, two continental breakfasts, breaks, two lunches, a social, and one dinner banquet.
Participants from emerging regions, including developing countries, are especially encouraged to attend. Conference registration for attendees from emerging regions is $100; a limited number of travel assistance scholarships will be available for international participants. Student registration is $75.00.
